Mrs. Newman has been in education since 1986. She has been a CODE teacher for the last three years. She has taught classes in Web Design, Science, Reading, Writing, the Kansas City Unit, Middle Ages, Molecular Gastronomy (Science of Cooking), Leadership Academy and much more.. She has earned degrees at Central Missouri State University (recently changed to University of Central Missouri or UCM) and the University of Missouri, MIZZOU.


As well as education, her life is centered around her family. She has a husband of almost 40 years and two adult daughters.. She also has two wonderful son-in-laws that she wouldn't trade for the world.  She says the best thing ever is her grandson Edison.


In her spare time, Mrs.Newman likes to swim, water ski and garden. Her favorite vacation was when her husband won a trip. They chose to go to Disney World and on a cruise to the Bahamas with their two daughters.


Her most memorable CODE moment was getting hired. Her other memorable moments include seeing the changes in her students from their elementary to middle school to high school years. Her most embarrassing moment was on a field trip to the courthouse in Independence, Mo. The bus driver got lost and they didn't have much time to tour the courthouse.


Mrs. Newman would like to give praise to Mrs. Hill for being patient with the her staff.   and Lastly she would like to say, no matter how mushy it sounds, she loves being at CODE and she loves her students. Being at CODE keeps her young, moving and motivated.
